Notification of updates in Chrome
Chrome is a browser full of design subtleties, some of which are so minute and ephemeral that it's hard to even be aware of them. One of them is the change of colour of the update notification icon.
If you restart your computer and programs very occasionally, once every 2 or 3 weeks, you may have noticed the subtle colour change in this icon: for the first few days (maybe 5 or 7, I'm not sure), the icon appears green, after that time, the icon makes a subtle colour change to brown, as if it were the leaf of a deciduous tree in autumn.

A very unintrusive and elegant way to draw attention to the need to restart the browser, and at the same time, why not, a nice visual metaphor: Time to prune branches or let leaves fall off.
