2014: the year of plot twists and turns

30 Dec, 2014, by Sergio.

In this traditional summary exercise, and looking back over the year in perspective, we have to say that, on a professional level, this year has been an accumulation of surprise projects and changes in the pace of work:

Since the beginning of the year, we have been cutting the finishing touches to several projects initiated during 2013, including the implementation of customer satisfaction surveys in the ReviewPro, as well as supporting TripAdvisor's product and marketing team in migrating TripAdvisor systems to the new Niumba.

Following the successful launch of Pisos.com In mid-May, the product team continued to rely on us for the definition of the online version of its widespread real estate software. We have also collaborated from time to time with other projects of the Vocento group, such as Advance your career and others that will see the light of day during 2015.

During the second quarter of the year, we collaborated with the foundation Barcelona Media in the definition of some of its mobile applications.

In April, the folks at The Data Republic made a splash with the purchase of Tuitele by Kantar Media, and we got to work to help define the new social TV analytics platform.

May continued to overlap the madness of the third edition. UXSpain in Granada and their organisation together with the other 3 steppe wolves. Like the births and the breeding of the offspring, every year we get better and better and every year we go home mumbling that it will be the last time...

June continued with a productive whirlwind trip of several days to Alicante, to work together with Andrés Torrubia y Eduardo Manchón in the definition of a mobile experiment-application, of which I can't tell (for now) much more.

With the end of the school year came the project season for public institutions: an in-house project for the Barcelona City Council and a website for a research department of the University of Barcelona, which we hope to be able to announce shortly.

In autumn we met the fun team Mr. Wonderful and we were defining its e-commerce for 2015. And to top it all off, in the last quarter of the year we have been working very intensely with AXA Assistance in the definition of several of its online services.

At the teaching level, Carol has continued to collaborate throughout the year as an Information Architecture consultant for the UOC and a server on an occasional basis with the UAB, We would like to expand this activity, as it gives us a lot of personal satisfaction.

And not much else. The year 2015 promises us many projects and a new script, let's hope that our characters evolve accordingly. Happy New Year!
